From the Bride (Designer and owner of Margaret Elizabeth)… I always envisioned getting married at the Dunes Club surrounded by an abundance of family and friends. The place was really important to us, as we both love the water and wanted to be married by the sea. The Dunes Club is a particularly special place to me because of all the time I spent there with my large extended family. My grandmother was an amazingly talented wedding planner and we spent countless hours sitting on that very beach dreaming of this day. Since she is no longer with us, I wanted to be sure that I incorporated as many elements as possible from those beach side conversations.
Our table linens were one of those things. We worked with La Tavola linens to come up with a coral, cream, and gold flecked color scheme and Sayles Livingston for all of the flowers. Sayles’ team created the branch structures that hung above the tables. I loved these because they created a feeling reminiscent of Sonoma, California- one of our favorite west coast towns and the site of our engagement. While the decor and of our wedding was so much fun to design, the greatest part of our weekend was spending time with all of our friends and family who traveled to Rhode Island to celebrate with us.
My favorite moment of the wedding was right after the ceremony- Lane and I had just finished walking down the aisle and we had this quick moment where it was just us standing on the grass, looking out to the ocean. It was a peaceful and beautiful moment that I will always treasure.
