From the Bride… Nick and I wanted a very simple, clean, and elegant wedding – nothing too extravagant. Luckily, my parents have a beautiful summer home located on Buzzards Bay in South Dartmouth, Massachusetts. The venue provided the perfect backdrop for our intimate celebration with 110 of our closest friends and family.

Most important to us was the ceremony. We chose to have our friend officiate because we wanted the ceremony to be intimate and personal. I wrote the ceremony with the officiant, which allowed us the flexibility to include all of the components we wanted. Music was also an important part of the ceremony – I walked down the aisle to “Northern Sky” by Nick Drake, and our recessional was set to “You’re My Best Friend” by Queen. Our flowers from Sayles Livingston Flowers were AMAZING. The arc of flowers that we stood beneath was breathtaking (as were all of the flowers she provided).

We held our reception in a tent, right next to the ceremony (luckily the backyard was big enough to hold both, side by side). The decor of the tent was rustic with a homey feel – farm tables with runners, candles, flowers, and lanterns.

During his opening speech, my Dad set the right tone for the wedding: he told everyone to loosen their ties, take off their heels, and just enjoy themselves! We had an amazing band – Eye 2 Eye – which kept everyone moving and entertained throughout the evening.

My wedding planner, Wendy Joblon, helped the entire day move smoothly. Kevin Trimmer captured amazing shots. And, Chanterelle Boutique Catering served phenomenal farm-to-table cuisine. Our wedding was more beautiful than I could have ever imagined.
